The Surfrider Foundation is a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s oceans, waves and beaches for all people, through conservation, activism, research and education.

Surfrider Foundation now has over 600,000 members in the USA; in addition, International Surfrider Foundation chapters and affiliates have been established in many foreign countries including the Surfrider Foundation Europe (with ongoing programs and Chapters in France, Germany, Spain, Portugal and Italy) as well as Japan, Brazil, and Australia.

The Battle for California Continues

On January 20th, 2015 in an overwhelming 6-1 vote, the city council of Huntington Beach directed the city staff to begin the process of repealing a policy that bans the use of plastic grocery bags, and requires grocery stores to charge a ten-cent fee on paper bags.

More jurisdictions across America and around the world are regulating plastic as it has become the most dangerous pollutant in our oceans.
