The Ocean Knight

In the dying embers of day
The silent and empty shore
Of San Franciscobay.
The ocean I adore.

The full moon, a midnight pearl,
Down its sparkles were cast
To play on the ocean's curl
A wave, each like the last.

From under a rock, a crab
Scuttled forward on the sand.
Suddenly it made a grab
Yanking a white strand.

The wind brought the bag to life,
Writhing against the crab's hold
It waved as if in strife
Grabbing the crab, acting bold.

The poor crab was enveloped
As the bag tightened its grasp.
An emergency developed
No air, the dying crab's gasp.

Suddenly a helping hand
Freed the suffocated crab,
Who scuttled across the sand
Hiding under a rocky slab.

Disposing the plastic bag
Properly; in the right place.
Another crab it won't snag.
A smile lit across her face.

Ocean Knight, do stay!
Cleaning the empty shore
In the San Franciscobay
Saving the ocean I adore.

Hey just want to say thanks for the inspiring action. Though at times we get overwhelmed and feel that we have to accept this trash as a fact of life it is action like this that make the difference. We can have a cleaner, healthier world and ocean. Thank you!! One hour, one day at a time . . .

It's great to see that one person CAN make a difference, and that others feel that same passion for clean beaches. The proof is there in your work today when a complete stranger joined right in without hesitation. Most people want to do what's right but just need that little push to get them going. You are setting a great example my friend and I hope your efforts are rewarded in raised awareness. Go get em!

I had such a good time at the Bolsa Beach clean - up. Cleaned and surfed a beach that I love so much. I will do it again for sure. I'm now looking at my life and the impact I have on my community.

Thanks again
