12th Annual Ohana Day

Seal Beach Pier  *On the sand at the pier / 8th street parking lot.

Ohana Day will be a fun-filled, family beach day hosted by our HSB Surfrider Chapter to bring friends and families out to the beach for relaxation, fun and environmental education, in time for Earth Day!

Video from 10th Annual Ohana Day!

A great opportunity for everyone to come out for an enjoyable and educational day at the beach. Surfrider will have plenty of volunteers on hand to talk about simple things we can all do in our own homes to improve water quality at our beaches. In addition there will be free surf lessons courtesy of M&M Surf School, free marine biology lessons form Science 2 U, interactive information on ocean and surf related group tables, a bodyboarding clinic, Lifeguard Try-Outs, Surfrider programs and a beach cleanup. All this including music and a raffle featuring merchandise from a variety of supporting local businesses. Friends and families are encouraged to bring their boards, beach chairs and a picnic lunch to enjoy a fun day at the beach!

International Surfing Day!

JUNE 15, 2019

“Part of the beauty of International Surfing Day is that people everywhere can celebrate and give back. Whether that’s paddling out for the very first time, sneaking in a quick session with friends or picking up trash at your local beach, ISD is as big as you make it,” says former H/SB Chapter Chairman, Tony Soriano.

Special Events are a fun and easy way to volunteer your time by helping to keep our beaches and ocean clean!

We provide bags, hand sanitizer, water and a gorgeous view!

Our events are welcome to individuals of all ages, schools clubs, Scouts, companies, and other large groups. We're always looking for volunteers to help out at the booth as well as participate in the cleanups.

We're looking forward to sharing our environmental programs; that include beach cleanups, water quality testing, creating Ocean-Friendly Gardens, Education, Ocean Friendly Restaurants and Rise Above Plastic to reduce litter on our streets and beaches. All of these programs will be featured at Ohana Day!
