
The Education Committee supports the Foundation’s global/national initiatives and also works to implement our local chapter programs.
Global/National Initiatives
Respect The Beach
Respect the Beach (RTB) is an award-winning coastal educational program that includes field trips, classroom lectures, handouts, videos and hands-on projects designed to explain coastal watershed processes, shoreline ecology and coastal area stewardship to K-12 students and community groups.
Save Our Seas
Save Our Seas is a marine curriculum with handson activities designed to help students understand the effects of marine debris on coastal wildlife and habitats.
Chapter Initiatives
- Establish high school/university standards-based programs incorporating Service Learning.
- Identify, support and show case model elementary, middle, high school and university programs.
- Establish a years-end volunteer recognition celebration.
- Provide programs for the general membership chapter meetings as requested.
