First day surfing was Super Bowl (V) Sunday January 17, 1971, Seal Beach with no wet suit. After that day, all thoughts were about how to get to the beach and surf. Leaving the beaches clean and accessible is very important and consistent with Surfrider values. Steve joined Surfrider in August of 2020 and is getting to know the chapter virtually and face to face when possible.
Steve was an international finance executive for over 35 years, living in Philadelphia and Germany for many years. Always returning to his roots in So Cal for vacations and spending time with family and friends. Now living permanently in Seal Beach, Steve also volunteers for mentoring students in the CSULB (Student Center for Professional Development) and grad student teams on The Innovation Challenge. You will likely find him surfing from Huntington pier to Seal Beach River Jetty.
