The Poseidon Adventure Continued
Poseidon Desal plant Sucks Up $350million in Taxpayer Dollars After MWD Sucks Up to Poseidon
OC Voice video report shows how it happened.
Poseidon Resources Inc. told elected officials and taxpayers that if its energy intensive and costly desalination projects were approved in Carlsbad and Huntington Beach, California that there would be no cost or risk to taxpayers. But they will directly benefit from a $350 million subsidy with much more likely to come.

Huntington/Seal Beach Surfrider would like to extend a big thank you to all of the volunteers that helped us protect our ocean, waves and beaches in 2009. In fact, so far 5,077 of you helped us cleanup the beaches in Huntington/Seal Beach this year!
Trash builds up on our beaches from several sources. In the summer months there are many visiting the beaches that sometimes forget to take out all the trash that they brought. During the winter months rainy weather brings all the trash on our streets into the flood channels that dump into our ocean, this trash washes up on our beaches.
It is important to make sure you pick up trash wherever you are. Trash from inland and the beach that is not disposed of properly ends up in the ocean harming sea life and polluting our oceans and beaches.
When visiting the beach, make sure to take out all the trash brought in, and pick up a few extra pieces for good measure.
Thank you to all the volunteers that helped Huntington/Seal Beach Surfrider pick up trash along the beach!
